OK, I need your help guys. I'm getting pretty pissed at Leica for keeping my M-E for two months for a sensor replacement and think I need to go ahead and get a second body to use with my M lenses. I have the 50 lux asph, zm 35/2 and CV 21 1.8 lenses... Which A7 body will play nicest with these lenses and what adapter do I use? I have to do something...
Hi Katie,
If you wish for the better M lens adaptability I would err to the A7/A7r or A7s modified by Kolari Vision.
The A7s and A7II are my favourite to go cameras as the FE 55 is no slouch. If you can live with 12MP the A7s is a great choice. Also my choice of adapter is the VM-E and next the Novoflex. The VM-E is very tightly toleranced and great for macro shots. Although with the VM-E you can lock in the far position, you can adjust for the infinity stop for a M lens you are shooting with but cannot lock in-between positions.
I was out shooting with my C/Y 135/2.8 Sonnar and am now thinking about selling my 58/1.2 to replace it with a C/Y Zeiss 50/1.4 or 1.7. I love the handling and sharpness of the 135, and the colors are gorgeous, as I barely had to do any corrections. It'll be hard to match the bokeh of the 58/1.2 though, so maybe I won't... Tough decisions.
All with the C/Y Zeiss 135mm f/2.8. Mostly just shadow & highlight adjust, though one or two also needed contrast adjustment, as they were partially into the sun.

Very nice snowscenes you are doing Lightshow! Most of the time I am not a big fan of snow but these are wonderful.
Thanks, I'm not a big fan of cold weather, but sometimes the conditions can make magic.
It was a surreal evening, very cold, with a high pressure system rolling in and was around sunset, lucky to be there.
