A few more ZM 35/2 shots while downtown again. While shooting the Biogon against lights, I got more sensor reflections than ever before!! Really disappointing...bummer. All shots hand-held at very high ISO.

So the more adapter will run about $180 regardless of brand, right? So I'm looking at $1600 or so just for a usable body for the lenses I already have. God, I wonder if I just shouldn't pick up another m9... Or upgrade my ME to the 240.
Katie...I think you'd be fine with an A7. The prices have come down, or you can always find a used one for a decent price, too. I'd love to see how the Lux shoots on the VM-E. I know my ZM's Sonnar and Planar do! It's great with the VM-E adapter, especially with the ZM 35/2 Biogon! You can get some much closer bokehlicious shots with it!!

you can get e-mount lenses that work just fine for $20 (if you don't need to focus closer than your m9 can) and an a7 for around $900. for an extra $400 you can thinner cover glass put on the a7 so that your lenses work about as well as on the m9. how much does an m9 run these days?

Where could one obtain a frakenzeiss G 45?
pretty much only from people that have built one. i've been giving people the designs to have cnc shops build the parts. much of the process is documented here.
hawk's factory and a couple shops in japan will also convert contax g lenses to m-mount with manual focus helicoids and rangefinder coupling, though the helicoids they use seem rather cheap.
Unfortunately time is a factor here, so I won't be able to send it off for modification. I'll need to use it immediately. So the a7 with v-me close focus adapter for around $1K would work for portrait and real estate work? Comparable to my M-E (which, btw I'm very happy with, just wish I had it back from Leica) how will images quality compare?

The V-ME close focus will give you 4mm closer. If you use lens upper 50mm focal range, I think it wastes of money.

The A7II has less sensor reflections than your A7, Another option that might improve the A7 is the thin cover glass conversion, though I'm not sure if it's been proven beyond a doubt.
Even my A7r is not as immune as my NEX-7.

I don't, have you ever tried taking a picture of someone across the table and can't because they are too close? I have, a close focus adapter can be very handy.
