^^^^Jack....couldn't agree more!!!
I really liked using the Nikkor 50 1.2 on my 1D4....totally inspirational lens! Glowy wide open and sharp, but by f2, it was really incredible!

Thanks! I like the B&W best as well. It's interesting that you mention the rendering. I also took a few shots with my a6000 with Rokinon 12mm, and the differences between the two cameras for landscape use are extremely small. There is very slightly smoother tonal roll off with the a7 II, but you have to look really close to see it, and I mean serious pixel peeping. Despite this fact, I still si ply love the A7II.the ergonomic changes make all the difference, and it's a camera that is wonderful to use.
The A7II is amazing and well worthwhile the relatively low entry level. In terms of B&W rendering the A7s is still my favourite. There is something special about the RAW files and how easily they adapt to conversions.
Jack, the last portrait shot is masterful in balance and composition !!!

No, it's not as sharp as Planar .. but as I said before it has magic, character
if you hit it right ... and I think that Planar lacks a bit .. but Zeiss 50 Planar is certainly a better option in many situations..but I don't think it matters very much if it's not just as sharp ..
I myself am looking for that dreamy feeling @f1.5
Gregg,
Thanks for the kind words. The 50/1.5 ZM is a very special lens, I liked it the few times I borrowed one from my friend it draws very differently from anything else I have used, I almost sold the CV Nokton for one more than once! But for landscapes, the Planar and the summicron edge out both the Sonnar and the Nokton by just a little.
it draws very differently from anything else I have used
Ryan...Yes it does. I've used a lot of 50's, minus the Otus and M Lux's, and this by far, for what it does, has me hooked! I too, have the Nokton ASPH and the ZM 50 Planar, and I think I'm keeping the Sonnar and Planar, and going to ditch the Nokton....
Now I just need to get an M body!!

Werner, please, please stop! I am already convinced, yes I have to go there. Now please will you stop killing me?
Nah, I am a masochist, please continue killing me!
