Can't seem to get a sharp photo with this camera due to shutter shock. I lucked out with this one as I happened to hit the shutter release while in alternate phase alignment with a small earthquake

Have you noticed and significant vignetting/smearing or other optical anomalies with the a7 & 28/2? I've heard that when paired with the a7r, there were some issues. I was looking at the 28/2.8 elmarit-M and was concerned about 28 being too wide as far as optical anomalities possibly rearing theit ugly head on the a7.
Yes, there are definitely some issues. The color cast only shows up at f/2 and maybe f/2.8. More or less the same for the smearing - I don't really see it at f/5.6 except at the far corners. And, though it's true that the corners usually aren't even in focus at an aperture like f/2, it changes the character of the out-of-focus-ness. So far I'm pretty happy but I'm still making up my mind.

Did you notice any improvement with the v3 over whatever you were using previously?3
All earlier versions will vignette on a number of lenses. The opening is enlarged on the v3. The build is alot better than my v1. Very tight. Heli locks. Infinity is adjustable with two screws. Weight is 49 g.

ah! I've been waiting to hear about the new Voigtlander VM-E Close Focus -- and from what I understand so far, you can't adjust where it locks infinity. So with the Hawk's v3 you can adjust the infinity width of the adapter via two screws, and thereby adjust to be focused at infinity when you hit the hard stop on your lens?
And it's "roughly on par" for build as compared to something like the Voigtlander?
Any worries about hanging a heavier lens of it (such as the CV 1.2 in your shot)?
