Thanks for the info. To me it seems when pixel peeping that Rokkor is good at close up AND infinity on A7. It can cause moire on both distances. This is based to ONE image since I rarely shoot infinity, and with Rokkor 58 I have done it only once, unfortunately without tripod. I took f/1.2, f/2.8 and f/5.6. Unfortunately the f/2.8 is blurred about 0.5px (=useless for sharpness evaluation), so had only f/1.2, 1/320s, ISO 100 and f/5.6, 1/100s, ISO 400 - is it supposed to be sharper?
100% crop - f/1.2, 1/320s, ISO 100 - glow is strong, due to which contrast is low, but sharpness is quite OK for f/1.2
100% crop - f/5.6, 1/00s, ISO 400 - better contrast but noise is eating sharpness

Thanks kroyston! Apple was fast this time. It took forever to get support to Panasonic LX-3 and when it came out it forced the distortion correction "on" ruining the excellent drawing style of the lens. Let's see how A7 files convert compared to Iridient Developer, which is really good on image quality but doesn't suit my workflow.

Thanks Phillip. Your corners are slightly better, but image has text claiming image is shot with Sony Nex-6, so it's crop sensor corner, not the real corner ==> I'm not too worried about my Rokkor's performance.

that certainly looks reasonably sharp, the glow seems to have differential effects on sharpness depending on the sensor so i can't say for certain about the a7 (at the pixel level multiple copies have looked sharper on my nex-7 than on my nex-5n).
phillip's tests match my experience on film and digital with 7-8 or samples. i've seen shockingly little sample variation across the years of production btw, just slightly weaker corners here and there independent of the version.
