**Thank you everyone for your kind words for my niece. I wish you could know her like I do.**
This is one more image of the cutest little girl being held by her grandpa. She's the daughter of one of my other nieces. It was a bright, sunny day but this turned out good. Simera 28/1.4 @ f1.4
beautiful pictures for a beautiful day with beautiful people. And it’s great to see the strength to overcome such profound obstacles. cheers!

Powerful story and amazing pictures... TFS... I doubt the official photographers pictures would be as good as these...
In fact they are so good that I am now tempted to buy this lens I have a few Nikon Ai-S and Zeiss MF lenses that I haven't picked up in a long time (mostly focused on birds and wildlife these days) but had never heard of Thypoch Simera!
Thank you! And...you're in luck! There happens to be a dedicated thread on the e-mount version of the Simera 28/1.4 right here:

My niece was a 17-year-old cheerleader in 2020 when she was hit head on by a drunk driver in a pickup truck going 75 mph. She sustained horrible injuries including losing both her legs above the knee, a severed spine leaving her unable to feel below the waist, and massive internal injuries. She almost died in the hospital several times but was as tough as nails and survived. She flys all over the world in her wheelchair and kayaks, plays pickle ball, and this weekend married a wonderful young man.
I wasn't the official photographer, just the uncle with a nice camera. I decided to forgo an autofocus lens after the wedding and used only the Thypoch Simera 28/1.4 manual focus lens. Here are a few of the images....Show more →
Very touching and inspirational story about your niece. Congratulations to her and her husband! She looked beautiful!
These are the days that photography is all about. Capturing memories! Great job!
Spent one morning watching the sunrise on Cape Cod, MA and trying to photograph an Osprey family. The mother never came back with food in the few hours I waited so all I got was the baby stretching for a few minutes.

Very nicely done as per your usual Douglas! Hope you're summer is going well! Steve
Thank you very much, Steve! Enjoy your firework shots as well. The fireworks in DC this time was a bit tough to shoot because the smoke kept hanging in the air, minimal wind. Not much to shoot this summer, except some airshows and hummingbirds.
Some recent flower shots.
