One of my favorite parts of summer in the northern hemisphere is seeing the Milky Way galactic core at night. One from a couple evenings ago. The orange cloud is from lights being reflected up from a small nearby city.
My niece was a 17-year-old cheerleader in 2020 when she was hit head on by a drunk driver in a pickup truck going 75 mph. She sustained horrible injuries including losing both her legs above the knee, a severed spine leaving her unable to feel below the waist, and massive internal injuries. She almost died in the hospital several times but was as tough as nails and survived. She flys all over the world in her wheelchair and kayaks, plays pickle ball, and this weekend married a wonderful young man.
I wasn't the official photographer, just the uncle with a nice camera. I decided to forgo an autofocus lens after the wedding and used only the Thypoch Simera 28/1.4 manual focus lens. Here are a few of the images.

What a moving story and lovely set of pictures, Eric!
Some shots of the fireworks over DC and flyover by some of the aircraft types participated in "Midnight Hammer" last night. Please just stick to photography.

Wow! The back story, the bride, the groom and your photography. Just wow!! Steve
Last night I shot our local fireworks with a 50-year-old Konica Hexanon AR 57/1.4 lens on my Sony A7CR. Why? Because the lens has great colors, is sharp, and has a very accurate hard stop at infinity. I had pre-verified the accuracy of focus and depth of field at the hard stop when shot at f8-f11. I'm still processing the results from 80+ images but I'm posting two crops of one early image from the night's shoot. The first version below was cropped from the original in post to 60% of the original # of pixels. The second is from the same original, cropped to only 20% of the original # of pixels. Both versions were downsized for posting here. I am pretty impressed with how this old lens performed on a modern 61mp sensor.

Powerful story and amazing pictures... TFS... I doubt the official photographers pictures would be as good as these...
In fact they are so good that I am now tempted to buy this lens I have a few Nikon Ai-S and Zeiss MF lenses that I haven't picked up in a long time (mostly focused on birds and wildlife these days) but had never heard of Thypoch Simera!

Nice work, Steve.
There are some wonderful legacy lenses out there. I am more familiar with the old Nikkors and the Manual Glass threads on the Nikon Forum is one of the most popular/posted thread there - over 12M views! Perhaps you need to start something similar here on this Sony site, Steve, for pre-Sony acquisition Konica/Minolta lenses. I hear there are some real gems there and it would be a great resource.
