Drove 240 miles to Long Island, NY to watch the airshowon Saturday, tremendous lineup this year but the light was just horrible. It was backlit and cloudy most of the time. I didn't even bother to keep one single shot from the F-35C and the EA-18G Growler 2-Ship Demo. The highlights for me were the US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet Rhino Demonstration Team, the F-35B and B-29 Doc. Such a treat to see one of the only two airworthy B-29s flying.
Went to the USAFA graduation as a Civil Air Patrol volunteer and to see the Thunderbirds but they got cancelled since we were in a cloud the whole morning. Still fun with all the cadets and they stumbled across a birds nest smack dab in the middle of the field that became the parking lot. Not sure they made it as it looked like the were going to get trampled and mom never came back when all the people moved through.
Not sure if I like the title Thunder Chicks or Angry Birds
