Sad news, the Francis Scott Key Bridge near Baltimore, which I have photographed at sunrise dozens of times over the last 6 or 7 years, got hit by a cargo ship last night, section of it collapsed into the river, sending 20 cars down.
"The bridge was opened on March 23, 1977, and was named for amateur poet Francis Scott Key (1779–1843), the author of the American national anthem, the "Star Spangled Banner". It's believed where the bridge is today was where Francis Scott Key observed the British bombardment of Fort McHenry in 1814 during the War of 1812, inspiring him to write our national anthem.
These are some of the pictures I took with different cameras and lenses over the years. The first picture was taken on 12/31/2023, it's the last picture I took of it.
