While in Idaho last week, more snow started falling just as some field mice were coming out from under their burrows under the snow. I happened to have my 70-200 with 1.4x on and got a few of this little guy.
I have a lot of pictures from the airshow to go over but there are the first two, ladies first.
Blue Angels #3: Lieutenant Amanda Lee. She is the first female pilot flying in the Blue Angels demo team in its 76 year history. There was another female pilot who flew the C-130 "Fat Albert" cargo plane in the team. But Lt. Lee is the first female in the 6-plane formation. She is a combat pilot who became the pilot of the F-18 Super Hornet Rhino Demonstration Team prior to joining the Blue Angels.
Captain Aimee Fiedler is the USAF F-16 Viper Demonstration Team pilot. I have seen her flying a few times, amazing flier!

Guess what, I managed to get some landscape images from southern Italy, forst one was from the road to Matera - the capitol of Basilicata the neighbour of Puglia, and the rest is within the city of Matera.

Jeff, wonderful images and I see why that lens is your favorite! Out of curiosity though, why the ND filter and why that fairly slow shutter speed? You used the A1 and the sync speed on that camera is 1/400sec. I have used, under similar circumstances, a higher shutter speed than that and I didn’t see any ill effect from the electronic shutter. Again, just curious…

I was also shooting in bright sun, on this walk, and needed to overpower the sun with my strobe. To remain portable on my walk, I didn't take my higher power strobes; instead using my smaller 300WS strobe. To keep out of (power robbing) HSS with these smaller strobes, I use ND filters. I also like electronic shutter, hence, the 1/200. These shots were taken on the fly. If I had more time, I would have removed the 6-Stop ND filter for the shots I posted. This caused me to go into Extended ISO (64) and lower shutter speeds, although I was still at 1/2*FL and the strobe mostly freezes movement on the subject.

What a view, Joshua! I would be scared to death flying in this thing without doors! I have flown in choppers twice, once over the Chinese Great Wall in a big Soviet made chopper, long long time ago, second time over a glacier in Alaska in an 8-passenger chopper. I wouldn't crawl into that little thing you flew
