Today is the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Midway, hard to believe it happened 80 years ago. I wonder how many of the participants of this battle are still living?
Went to Reading, Pa for a few hours yesterday. They are holding the huge WWII Weekend exhibit for the 32nd year, lots of WWII warbirds, tanks, armored vehicles, machine guns from different countries. The exhibitors also dressed in the WWII uniforms of different countries. Pretty interesting to see. The B-29 is one of the only two flyable B-29s in the world today.

Cropped from left and right Tripod mounted A1 and Voigtlander 110mm f2.5 Macro Apo-Lanthar lens in Sony FE mount; silent shutter. 2 Macro Focusing rails were used to position the camera and lens on the tripod head and tripod. The lower focusing rail for the X-axis (left and right postioning) was the Leofoto MP-180S and the upper focusing rail for the Y- axis (front and back positioning) was the Swebo LS001. The Swebo LS001 was delivered on Thursday, June 2 after a wait of 39 days due to the shutdown in Shanghai, China.

(It was spot on the Christmas tree and hit the branches. I mentioned earlier that I'd sent it in for repairs because the AF was iffy and since it came back it very rarely misses, even with the A7rii, I don't know what they did because the repair bill only said "adjusted af" but turnaround was fast and seems to have helped)
I have always had trouble shooting propeller planes at slow shutter speed to blur the propeller, showing motion, while keeping the plane reasonably sharp. In the usual airshow time of the day it's too bright to use slow shutter speed, unless at aperture F16 or F22. I just bought a PolarPro 2-5 stop variable ND filter to to reduce the amount of light so a slower shutter speed and a more desirable aperture can be used. I have read bad things about variable ND filters, still experimenting. So practice, practice and more practice.
