Hi Helena,

Wonderful pics as always. I see you are using the CV 28/2 VM II and I assume you are using it on a sony a7 series body. I'd be interested in your experience and whether you see any image degradation or anomalies due to the thick Sony sensor. Your images look great . . .

Thanks,

Bob

Thank you very much! Yes, both my cameras (A7II and A7RII) have the original sensors. I stumbled upon the CV28 for a good price and since I have really wanted a small 28mm and already have many other M mount lenses I decided to buy it even though it's not optimal on stock Sonys. At daytime I use it almost exclusively at f/8 and there it's more than sharp enough for me - even in the corners. As Fred showed in his review field curvature is exaggerated by the Sony sensor, so that is something to be aware of. It only bothers me in small DoF photos though and I don't intend to use this lens for such photos. In poor lighting I don't hesitate to shoot it wide open though, because then I don't notice the negative effect.
Btw. I have been thinking about sending in my A7II for a thin sensor modification since I have so many M mount lenses.

My inquiry has been the same as Bob's, Helena. Cosina is filling out other ranges. I am weakening fast on this one because I have the same cameras as you, plus Fred's review shows what a wonderful little lens it is. I use the 21/3.5 in just the same way, with rare exception. The 28/2 has a similar character from what I see, and it would get even more use than 35mm and 21mm. It's the same weight as the 21mm - I have become very keen on the small/light camera/lens combination, it really helps in extreme conditions, when time is tight. Finally, M mount lenses are easy to sell, even here. So thank you for the information from a photographer's real world experience. This one below from the 21/3.5. f8 and be there.

It's one of these rare occasions where I was lucky enough to capture swallows in flight, on the top of that, the early morning light was just beautiful. Not sure what kind of bird the last one is. He caught a bug.

You all have a great weekend!
