It's one of these rare occasions where I was lucky enough to capture swallows in flight, on the top of that, the early morning light was just beautiful. Not sure what kind of bird the last one is. He caught a bug.

You all have a great weekend!

Impressive, Doug! You made it look easy…

Was out trying out my new A1 today. Wasn't too picky about what I was taking pictures of. Birds, insects, whatever.

I am so enjoying all of these images that everyone posts!!!!! All are wonderful!

My eagles nest I am sure has babies... I see feeding activity, but no little ones yet.... The parents are busy taking turns hunting and nest guarding and feeding... lot of fun to watch them Again, I have NEVER shot eagles before.. actually not many birds, I am just enjoying this pair

Photo taken at 12:58 PM.

Looking down one of the roads of the Pompeii Archeological site. You can see the grooves in the "cobblestones" from the carts that ran across the stones. I believe that one of the flanks of the volcano, Vesuvius can be seen at the rear of the image.

Thank you, Joshua and Roberta! I love your hummer pictures! I have seen them at my feeder the last two weeks. I prefer to photograph them feeding on the flowers, maybe another week or so before the bee balms are in bloom.

Some recent shots from dog walks. The baby goose in the first picture was hatched just about 20 seconds before the shot was taken, the mother goose was still working on other eggs.

Photo taken at 4:11 PM.

Looking at the the fenced in 4 Acre American Chestnut test Grove in Autumn Color and into the distance. The American Chestnut had been a major constituent of the Eastern United States Forests until the Chestnut Blight in the first half of the 20th century killed most of the trees. Roots of the trees in the forests have been putting up suckers since that grow to as much as about 20' tall before dying back due to the Blight. This 4 Acre Test Grove is part of the efforts to develop and breed blight resistant trees to be reintroduced into the Eastern Forests.
