A couple of shots with the a7r and Hassy S-Planar 135 on Mamiya Auto-Bellows N. First is a single shot wide open at 1:1, shifted to correct framing, no tilt. Second is a 13-shot pano, f/16 at 1:1, no shift but some tilt.
Your photo could turn out very expensive for me. Not a bad thing.
I'd sooner have a Leica 35mm FLE as I have the FE 55/1.8. Any idea if the 35 FLE works on the A7R.
I looked at the APO 50/2 but realised I needed money sometime in old age.
Thanks.
Well, the Leica 35/1.4 which you mention is by far more expensive than my 50/2 lens which you can get used for about $1K at best. I remember to have read something about the 35/1.4 lens in this thread here where pros and cons of Leica lenses on the A7R are mentioned: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1296971/
Check especially page 2, some versions of this lens are mentioned there.

Hmmmm . . . bit too much of a dice roll, seems to get the Leica look you need a Leica M for the 35 FLE. Think I'll wait and see if an FE 35/1.4 or faster is available in 2014+.
Or look at the Leica Summilux-R 35/1.4 or Contax 35/1.4 or Carl Zeiss ZF.2/ZE 35/1.4, if you don't mind the extra size.
I don't know if anyone agrees with me, but I doubt we will ever see a native auto-focusing FE f/1.4 35mm or 50mm lens (or any other focal length for that matter). I suspect that the mount is too narrow and the sensitivity to impinging angles too great for a compact lens, and I doubt a larger, more tele-centric lens will be released. It is an open question if Zeiss will release a manual focus FE lens like this.
55-58mm is where Nikon has traditionally gone to make f/1.2 lenses for their F-mount, yet Sony went there to release just an f/1.8 lens...

Those and the Voigtlander 35/1.2 II.
My Revuenon 55/1.2 works very well on the A7R and that's a pretty small light weight lens.
I do hope Sony/Zeiss issue some more glass for this excellent camera. A fast 35, very fast 50-55, fast 85 and 135/2 would be great. Perhaps a 14/2.8 or 14/4.
With the FE 35/2.8, I think the balance of weight size and speed has tipped in favour of weight and size too much. Could have been a bit bigger/heavier (it's only 120 grams!) and a stop or so faster.

The Sigma 35 1.4 Art lens is quite formidable; both in size and weight but also the quality of IQ. It's truly stellar IMHO.
This is from the stem of Devil’s Club, a plant that can grow to nearly 10 feet tall, and is often described as “hiker’s bane,” for obvious reasons. Taken in Olympic National Park.

I made a trade with a fellow board member and got the ZA 24/2. I don't usually go for AF lenses, but I was willing to make an exception for this one after playing with one for a bit at my local camera shop. There's a dedicated MF switch on the lens and the focus is linked mechanically. While it doesn't have a hard stop, there's a definite change when the clutch disengages, so it's a decent indicator. And I'm sure eventually my fingers won't search for an aperture ring and I'll just remember that I have to change it on the camera. The MFD allows you to get down to 1:3, and the close-focus bokeh is probably the best I've seen from a wide-angle lens. It's bulky but it's fairly light. My chief complaint is the very short focus throw. It makes manually focusing it a bit of a challenge but, hey, who doesn't like a challenge?
