Thank you Joshua! If you look carefully, there were 2 pilots in second jet from the top. The light was horrible during the rehearsal. I will get to practice more with the A1 and the 200-600 on Sunday at a different airshow. I have never shot with a prime lens in any of the 50 or so airshows I have been too, zoom lens is much more versatile. That said I will bring my A7RIV+600 GM combo for the next show as well to get closeup shots of cockpits.
BTW, I met a guy who painted a lot of the ceilings in casinos in Las Vegas. He said he got really bad back problems from lying down for long hours when he painted the ceilings.
Some of you probably have read about the Brood X cicadas in some states on the east coast of the U.S. They have been emerging from the ground after 17 years living in dirt, coming out just to mate and die shortly after. Once the eggs they lay on the trees are hatched, the nymphs fall to the ground and start the 17-year cycle again. There are billions and billions of them right now, the sound and sight are unbelievable. Some trees are covered by thousands of them. Some brave souls have tried them and claimed they tasted like shrimps. We won't see their offspring until 2038.
While walking on a desert trail in the early morning, I spotted this fallen, rotting old desert tree. The light was hitting it in such a way from inside the hollowed out part that it looked like there was a fire from inside, almost like a vein had come alive. 35GM
