The Cheesewring is a natural geological formation, a rock outcrop of granite slabs formed by weathering. The name derives from the resemblance of the piled slabs to a "cheesewring", a press-like device that was once used to make cheese

You captured that very well , Barry! I like the B&W conversion you did, too. The name is interesting and having that background from Germany, the German term for that is “Wollensack” or translated to “wool bale” weathering pattern.

Thank you Joshua, most appreciated + Also for the (info) German Wollensack/wool bale/weathering pattern connection...I googled a few wool bale pics and I see what you mean

My local guy will drive me anywhere, so the onus for his safety is on me. This is a 'beta' road the BRO had pushed through for villages, it will eventually connect Ladakh with Manali. The army surveyors were hard at it some kilometres back (they need it for the China conflict zone), near a herd of blue sheep. This was the turnaround point I chose because there may not have been a place to to a multi-point turn later on, and reversing for several kms is not ideal. It was all under snow pack a few weeks earlier, rivers still at early season low flows.

Thanks so much, Dave!

I got out in some real approaching weather today. I'm impressed (as always) with the color and exposure range of the a7R4. Definitely the best sensor I've shot so far. I love how the lenses work so well with LR adjustments. Seems a perfect match for the Loxia lenses.

Here is a minimally shifted 2-shot pano, with blurred leaves and ripped branch ends on pavement from the wind.
