Very nice. I’m not sure if I’m the only one who looks at the exif, but how did you get that shot at 1/200s??
Did you mean to say 1/2000?

Thank you very much, Vtcats! You read it correctly, the shutter speed on that image was indeed 1/200sec. That image was a multiple-flash image where the hummingbird was frozen by the very short flash burst and I kept the shutter speed to be at the max sync speed of the camera.

As usual, your ability to capture the combination of mood, light, and shadow is exceptional!

Thank you very much, Sean! I am glad you like that hummer and the image.

Here is another capture of the same bird, showing that the color of the racquet-shaped tail is actually blue.

Contax 100/3.5 - a lovely lens. This is a 'kumbum' chorten, tall and a lot of chapels. It escaped the destruction of the Cultural Revolution, the Red Guards did not find its remote location. Nice paint job. Built in 1386 AD.

Joshua, are you saying this is the same bird you photographed in 2019? Just curious how you know it’s the same one?

So moving from the Ocean to the middle of the woods after 20+ years. Am excited about the new opportunities for all the usual suspects here in NH. Moose, bear, deer, fox, coyote etc... One that never crossed my mind was this guy. Apparently the farm across the street is like Noah's Ark and has 2 of everything. Anyway this guy is very nosey. When ever I show up at the property to do work he has been showing up to inspect what I'm doing.

I just happen to have the 70-350 on the camera yesterday.

Hi Douglas, I saw and photographed some juvenile specimens of this hummingbird in 2019. On the last trip, I did see and photograph some adult specimens that showed a fully developed tail. To be honest, I am not sure whether the location of the two is the same or not. In other words, I don’t think that this is the same specimen I photographed back then. That’s what I meant with that post. Sorry for the confusion.
