Another one from last week's trip the Zion. The Rangers have shut down the traditional Watchman bridge vantage point to photographers. So, I had to find a new vantage point. This is what I came up with. It is a multi frame panorama stitched together. Shot in the late afternoon, I liked the way the light glowed on the mountains.

Enjoy!

Peregrine falcons at my favorite site are busy ensuring their future generation again... Here is one of the images and I posted the complete sequence at the Nature and Wildlife forum here: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1692651/0#15538350. If you feel like checking that out, please feel free to do so.

Thank you very much,
Joshua

It is lemon and orange season in Arizona and our lemon tree is bursting with lemons and flowers. While picking some lemons this morning, my wife discovered this mama dove sitting on her eggs in a nest we did not know about. She was VERY well hidden and I thought this little image told the story. A7R3 with Canon 70-200/4IS.

They are quite unique, and as you can see, their camouflage is very similar to a dessicated leaf. Next molt he'll get wing buds, and then during his seventh and final molt he get his wings, which unfurl like a sail after the molt is complete. I'm hoping to get the chance to do some better macro shots, but so far all I've been able to do are handheld shots because he likes to move around and explore (or simply hang out on my hand and look around). This species is originally from eastern Africa and Madagascar.

My first day of birding with the a1 and I started with my backyard friends. Coming from the a9/a7R4, I'm totally amazed at what BE-AF can do. Even with a branch in front of the bird, sometimes on it's face, the camera still finds the eye. Incredible!

It was a quiet pastel evening when this guy flew by. This shot really shows the dynamic range of the a1. SOOC the bird was dark but some shadow adjustment and the detail is still there . . .

A wonderful set of images here. Awed by the Ghost Mantis and the other wildlife pictures. Joshua's captures of the mating sequence is Nat Geo ready and the others are very beautiful and striking, from abandoned buildings to lemony eyes, from digital's New York to Helena's Norway, and everything (traveling from East to West, the long way round) in between. Really a gorgeous set, everyone!
