shot my first hockey game in a 359 days tonight, coming from the Z's i must say im very impressed with the Sony cameras. More so impressed with the quality of the 100-400GM. Im definitely not used to 20FPS, the first period i basically shot a movie, thats going to take some getting used to, since i cant feel the shutter opening and closing, and in a loud arena, i cant hear the shutter sound. I had to shoot from an elevated position for the first two periods, and then got to move down for the final period and luckily enough OT.
The difference between the AF and "blackout" of the a9 versus the z6ii is stark. the final OT winning sequence, i wouldnt have been able to capture cleanly due to the "stutter viewfinder" of the z6ii. makes me wonder what images i missed over the years.

Nice shots turbodude. Out of curiosity are you shooting raw, jpg or both for the games? Must be weird in the arena. You have access to....anywhere I assume

Yep as you've ascertained .. Great White Egret (in non-breeding plumage, amongst other minor changes the bill will turn black when in breeding condition).

for most live events, jpg only. for sports only jpg. And normally with the arena Pre-Covid, yes i had access to almost everything except locker rooms, but now with covid its pretty restricted.
My home town has an annual Roots & Blues 3 day concert every August which I've been attending for the last 20 years or so. These are a few images from the last concert in 2019. Images taken with the A7R2 and either the Batis 25 or 85 lens.
