Another environmental image of an American kestrel and this time it is in SoCal desert some 2 hours away from where I live... There was also a hunting white-tailed kite but the light was quite a bit dimmer by then.

Many thanks, Joshua. After a lot of hand wringing, I decided to sell off the 135 GM, because unlike you I hardly take portraits and even though I tried to shot (close to) wide open more often, it's just not my style. Hence, I'm in the process of moving on to the Tammy 70-180.

As expected, the 12-24 GM sings in your capable hands, Bob.
New to me Tamron 28-200 at 200mm and f5.6. Never thought that I would acquire such an extreme zoom, but it's a decent lens.

Nice shot Chris . . . and you are too kind, thank you for the comments. I also sold my 135/1.8 GM . . . same reasoning. I hardly shoot portraits anymore and I found the lens just sitting. When I need something longer, I go to either Sony 85G or 100-400.

Bob, I just sold the 135 GM as well, beautiful lens no question, but I had used it to take some flower pictures only. I don't shoot portraits. I bought another Batis 135, just for the time I want a light tele when I don't want to lug the 100-400 GM around. If someone makes a compact and high quality 70-200 F4, I may get one. I actually bought the Tamron 70-180 f2.8 twice but never warmed up to the built. I don't like lenses that don't even have an AF/MF switch, but wait, the Batis 135 doesn't have one either.
I am debating if I should sell the 16-35GM since I also have the Sigma 14-24. The Sigma is probably a bit sharper if you pixel peep, but using filter is a pain. I don't really care about the 25-35 range of the Sony 16-35 because most likely I have the Sigma 24-70 with me also.
This morning I went out to play with the Sigma 14-24 and 24-70. I removed the flares from the sunrise shot.
