Amazing image! We used to love going to Mohonk. It's been many years since I was there... can you still climb up inside the Crevasse?

Wow, very impressive and enjoyable images , especially that of the Andromeda, Linwood! Is the lens you used the Sony GM 400mm f/2.8 or an adapted lens? Not that it matters but I am just curious. And how long was the exposure and what was the aperture, please. Thank you for sharing, Linwood!

Joshua

It's a stock A7Riv and stock Sonly 400/2.8. These, like almost all astrophotography now, were done with stacks of shorter exposures added together. The Andromeda was 332 exposures of 60s each (I notice now I also had a 1.4x teleconverter on), and the Rosette was a bunch of different lengths from 30-360s totalling a bit over 6 hours (I was experimenting to find the best, not that I needed the variety).

What's impressive to me is that 400 seems easily as capable as many telescopes of similar focal length, despite being designed for a camera.

These recent pages have had so much good photography! It's hard to give adequate acknowledgement, but I'm happy to be able to view such inspiring work. Thank you!

Barry -- Your compositions and color management are incredible.

Linwood-F -- Amazing shots! Impressive that you can get enough magnification out of 400mm.

Helena -- Always top notch scenes.

IndyFab -- One of your best cityscape panos!

Chuck Coyne -- Wow! That Sigma has enough contrast and color! Great view.

Kater1807 -- I really see a huge improvement in IQ with that Zony 24-70/4 compared to the 28-70 and 24-105 you were using. Really helps the color and clarity of your images.

Ronny and Joshua -- Terrific as usual for your creatures!

*****************

I was very happy how the "old" Canon EF 35/1.4L (vintage 2012) held up on the Sony via Sigma AF adapter. It might not be the absolute technical lens, but for these subjects, I frequently dialed back the contrast and details for pleasant "people pictures" under overcast and hazy sun.

Those B&W shots are so stunning Barry I hesitated posting my shots. Absolutely gorgeous.

Dealing with a dry autumn, it's been tough getting the right conditions the past few years.

Tim -- Really great results on the falls and autumn leaves, even if you had to pick and choose carefully due to low water flow. Genius makes it work, regardless of conditions!

Brian -- Wonderful shots. I would love to see you post a little larger to enjoy the rich details.
