At Fern Hammock Springs, Juniper Springs Recreation Area, Ocala National Forest, near Ocala, FL.
I picked up the 1.4x extender for my 100-400GM. Had the opportunity to try it out 'in the wild' (our national park) and at a Sea Worlds type of zoo. It's great fun to use.
The lens combination is really taxing at higher ISOs though, especially on my camera. I still need to get used to that. All in all a very fun experience and it helps me appriciate all the great photos on here all the more.

This owl was on the perch to the right and it must have seen something interesting, I am sure that it was food related. It jumped down with claws wide open. Too bad, it came back up empty-handed, uh, I meant, empty-clawed... Oh, well.
Great shots, Douglas, especially using a 1mm lens! I'm guessing that was the CV 21/1.4, not a super-secret CV 1/1.4?

A couple more shots with the Canon EF 40/2.8 STM pancake lens. I've been getting surprisingly great results on a7R4. I had tried selling it, now glad no one was interested. Probably the best AF lens available for around $100 used.
And I've always been a fan of The Yardbirds. I'm pretty sure the serene pink one is Eric Clapton, but the frenetic one has got to be Jeff Beck!

Thank you! You know what, Douglas, if you use that lens often enough for wildlife, it is worth having, for sure. On the other had, I long for a short lens of 1mm, and having an f/1.4 aperture at that. I know you meant “21” . I see, Jim beats me to that.... .
Wonderful images of the sunflower field(s)! Somehow the scenery looks more like in southern part of Europe some place.

Thanks for pointing that out Jim. Yes, it's the Voigtlander 21mm f1.4. I traded my CV 15 and CV 21 f1.4 for Guy's Sigma 14-24, Bought back a Loxia 21mm for sunstar and lightweight to supplement the Sigma, sold the Loxia and bought back another CV 21 f1.4 again! All in a matter of a month. Sometimes too many choices and too much GAS are bad combination.

Thanks Joshua. This sunflower field is only 5 minutes drive from my house. They had never grown anything on that field before, other than grass for cows. There are various views/angles of the field but I like to have the fence and the wild flowers in front of the fence in the frame.
This spot in western Minnesota has been on my list for some time. It's about a three hour drive from home. I didn't get home till after 3 am. This image is a composite of two 3 minute exposures, one for sky and one for foreground, then blended in photoshop. I have a lot to learn but love the detail a star tracker gives the resulting image.
I used my Rokninon 14/2.4 XP. I really like this lens for astrophotography. It's a hidden gem.
