Another newly discovered image file... The wide-open “road” is actually the way to enter the parking lot of the Dodger Stadium, which is located to the lower left outside the frame.
Not the best quality as it's very dark under my roof overhang, but I have this going on right now right above my front door We're Hungry! by lennycarl08, on Flickr
This year in late April and early May, several times a day a flock of about one hundred or so Cedar Waxwings were visiting our backyard,
first descending on a few trees, and then getting a drink from the water dishes we are setting out.
It seems wave after wave of these birds ere moving in, getting a drink of water, and making space for the next wave.

From year to year and season to season the bird population visiting our backyard changes quite a bit.
Prior to this year we have only seen very few Cedar Waxwings occasionally visiting us.
A few years back we had a sizable number of Evening Grosbeaks.
Even further back in one winter we were overrun by a very large number of American Robins.
Blue Birds have also been visiting us in the winter.
Looking at a field of Muscari "Bluebells". Unfortunately there were many fewer flowers than usual, but it had rained the day before, weather for the last number of days had been unusually cold and the visit was a bit later in the month than usual.
