Went skiing last weekend. The sun was shining when we started, then it turned into this... It was fun though and no other people around.

Beautiful!! I'm missing snow. We got to enjoy a lot of fresh snow when we skied Vermont in early January, but here in NYC we have had basically NO snow this winter! Usually there are a few heavy snowfalls or a blizzard, but none this year.
Ski areas and resorts have been forced to close for a few weeks now...

Yup, that sounds familiar and that’s wildlife photography alright . Sometimes, you are richly rewarded, and sometimes, you go home empty handed.

A veteran burrowing owl from last season - one of many images that didn’t get edited until recently...
Snuck out again for a bit yesterday to catch some sun in a local park. Had a lot of fun with the new Sony 100-400 GM (now that I have a working copy!). The dog in the photo isn't mine by any means but it kept following us unto I took a picture of it.
The lens is really really wonderful. It's an entirely different user experience than the Canon FD 300 2.8, and I would dare say it's a lot more enjoyable. I can't believe that there's something so incredibly sharp that can fit into a little shoulder bag.
