^^^ Gregg, please give me a few days and I will post side by side shots of Nikkor 50/1.2, C/V Nokton 50/1.5 and the latest Leica-M 50 Lux.
For now Nokton 50/1.5 is my fave 50m lens; and I mean as a lens with a strong character, techno MTF aside. Nokton will stay no matter what and the only lens I see as a potential addition would be classy Zeiss Sonnar 50/1.5
As Sony's sensor causes 28mm G-mount Biogon to have ridiculous field curvature, I was planning to use it only in square format. I was surprised that few of the photos taken f/11 were usable in web photo sizes, but viewing fullscreen (2560x1600) is too much as well as any printing.
Carl Zeiss Biogon T* 2.8/28 G @ f/11, 1/10s, Sony A7 @ ISO 100, B+W Kaesemann Circular Polarizer 46mm
Jack...thanks! I look forward to the comparison. I love my Lux R 50...and that'll stay, too, as well as the FE 55, but I wanted something a little smaller for 50's walk around, and everything I've read, and seen( your posts!) with the CV 50 ASPH decided for me. I have the CV 40, which I really like, but as some new poster noticed above, the bokeh can be a little funky wide open(although to me it's called character!!). I heard that the M 50's smear in the corner?
Thanks again,
Gregg
