Love that first one. Nice use of that 15mm Bob.
Thanks! The 15 got a good workout this week along with my he Loxia 21. The biggest surprise is how many images were taken with a he FE 100-400mm. I almost left it home!
Thanks Ronny! At first the skies didn’t look like much bet then after waiting we had just enough color to make it interesting! Interestingly, we never did photograph the ice on Diamond Beach as the skies didn’t cooperate and sunset/sunrise were to the he North anyway.
Wow Ronny - great stuff from Iceland. I'm just getting started with processing my images. Here's one from Kirkjufell. I felt obligated to visit and photograph this site to pay homage to iconic Iceland. Well, apparently so did everyone else the day I was there. We learned quickly that if you want to photograph a famous location, go at 10pm when all the tourists ("Tourons") are sleeping.
In this case, there was only one solution . . . a four minute exposure using a 15-stop Lee Seven5 IRND filter (thanks for suggesting, Fred). It got rid of all the people!
Today I started shooting Mission Concepcion to document its condition for a client who has a contract to provide historic preservation services for the SATX Missions. I got to shoot from the roof which was cool.
The purpose of the images is to document the current state of each mission. Key requirements are to have proper exposure and enough detail so my client could zoom in and see if new cracks were forming and such. The white areas on the roof here are where they drilled core samples to check the structure.

Wow, what a fantastic headdress. Just kidding. But it sure blends in with the roses in the background. Nice soft lighting.
