@ Gregg congrats as well with your new fast lens, nice shots and bokeh as well.
Hmm, let's see: on this page two photographers post using a WATE. You give charles.k a "like" (as did I), and then observe that the WATE is great. So far so good...but adding ("in your hands") strikes me as a personal and not too subtle put down of the other photographer's work. Better, I think, to just like or not like others' work, and leave the parenthetical stuff aside.
I am sorry Oldraven, no intention to hurt your feelings, it is just I saw more of Charles photo's with the Wate here and on another forum. Your photographs with that lens are great as well. I am happy for you that you have that expensive lens.
But I must say it bewilders me a bit that you feel personally put down.
Hope to see more of your photographs with that lens.

Taken at Bryce National Park at sunrise.
It was a clear night but luckily I got some cloud formations. The light was so beautiful. I still remember the wind and silence.
Comments appreciated.
Taken with Sony A7R and Canon 24-70 f/2.8L II.
Very nice Fred, I love the 24-70mm ll as well. Am wondering if you mount the camera on the tripod or with a plate on the lens mount converter?
Multicolour spider On the second shot the spider was spiraling down towards me so focus peaking was used..
Both pictures taken with A7r + Pentax-A 50/1.2 + Raynox DCR-250. Pentax A 50/1.2 has more delicate colour transitions compared to my FE 55/1.8 but Zeiss has a shorter MFD which is more useful for shots like these.

So many great shots here
Leanas, the 50 Nocti f/1.0, is a superb lens. I have used it extensively for portraits and weddings, and it is amazing lens. It seems the Nocti f/1.0, behaves differently on the A7r, than on the M240. On the M240 it is sublime, and Mandler characteristics really shine through. I have used it on the A7r with excellent results, but for middle to far distances, I am still not convinced.
Checked today how tubes and extender works with Metabones III & Carl Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 2/50 ZE. I didn't like tubes, but 2x seemed better. Using 2x also removed field curvature, when shoot from medium and far distances.
1. With 36mm tube and focus in 1:2
(the blue thing is ink-pen like skrewdriver which comes with Kingston hyperX drives, it has diameter of about 11mm/0.433inch)
2. With Kenko 2x and focus in 1:2, boke and field curvature test f/5.6
3. With Kenko 2x and focus in 1:2, boke and field curvature test f/2
4. With Kenko 2x and focus in 1:2
5. With Kenko 2x and focus in 1:2, magenta cast on left side from television
Regarding the Noctilux:
The shot leonasj cited was posted to show the bokeh.
A heilocoid adapter was used to come closer to the object (in this case ca 40cm) this softens the lens a lot when used wide open and DOF is extremely thin, the pic has just a very small point of sharpness.
The lens works very good with the A7R and shows its character very nice for close to mid shots wide open.
For middle and far distances you have to stop down to F4 or better F5.6, then it is very sharp exempt for the extreme far corners. Vignetting is strong.
