Piere, love the greens coming from your Pentax lenses.

Juan, looks like the FD 24 is doing fine. Is the corners okay? I suspect my Zeiss ZM 25 has some degradation to the corners,..sigh

A couple with the Zeiss 21, which I intend to keep until the new 16-35 arrives..

Hi Roxsan - The Samyang 24mm is going to be available in e-mount but I think the release has been delayed. I bought a Canon version back in Jan. and you can use it with a cheap adapter as all controls are manual. Has really close focus, almost macro like and pleasing bokeh wide open, fast...only real drawback is size but its not really to bad and I think it looks nice.

thanks Jack, I was thinking the same, Canon or Nikon adapter :-)

Shots from this morning at Elephant Rock, Currumbin Beach. A7r and WATE 16-18-21. This is probably the best WA combination I have tried, thanks to Rocky a local FM member, and I just love the rendering with the WATE. I prefer to use this lens on the A7r rather than the M240!

Superb Charles. Love the Skylightish colors too. Wish that lens wasnt so untouchable pricewise.

Congrats Gregg. CV35/1.2II is the short range short DOF bokeh master. Great shots.

A small field report from a one week ski tour in the Swiss and Italian Alps around Zermatt. Due to heavy snowfalls most of the planned route had to be skipped, and we stayed one night at the Cabane du Mountet, two nights at Rifugio Guide de Cervino and three nights at The Monte Rosa Hütte and did day tours from there at altitudes from 2500-4000m. The weight of the backpack had to be kept at a minimum.

Camera: Sony A7R with three batteries and a XUMA Power Pack to charge the camera and my iPhone. The EVF is a must in conditions like this, and worked OK. Sunglasses had to be removed to be able to use the viewfinder. The camera could be handled with light skiing gloves. I took care to pack it away most of the time in wet conditions, but have experienced no trouble using it in light snow/rain so far.

Lenses:
Zeiss FE 4/24-70. The go to lens when on the move, the convenience of a zoom lens is crucial when skiing as part of a group, sometimes roped in on glaciers with no possibilities to change lenses. Overall I think the lens handled and performed very well. The weight is low. The corners are weak in the wide end, but in practical use i found this acceptable most of the time. In the middle of the zoom range the lens shows excellent Zeiss contrast and colours. I found the slight softness in the long end to be more objectonable than the corners in the wide end.

Zeiss FE 2,8/35. At a little more than 100g this little prime was a good supplement for indoor shots, portraits and landscapes. The bokeh is much better than the zoom. Sharpness is really good. In snowy conditions the lens shows a small amount of color shifts towards the corners wich are fixed with a radial filter in LR in some of the photos.

Leica Tele-Elmarit-M 2,8/90. 300g with adapter. Brought along for longer reach and better resolution than what the zoom produces in the long end. The corners are not good wide open as can be seen in one of the photos where I forgot to close it down, but when you do it performs really well.

Indulging my footbridge fetish with a pair from Olympic National Park.
A7 + WATE.

Marymere Falls outflow footbridge. Sags & looks beat...but tons of character.
