Finally a foggy morning and I decided to only use my Russian Monolenses. Not sure if I have mentioned it before, but I have two: A 50mm that I have used for most shots and a really cheap 26mm. It has very soft edges on FF (but more contrast in the center than the 50mm), which added to the dreamy look.
Thank you Peter, much appreciated! Great grabs yourself. Just out of curiosity, are you planning on keeping both lenses, given their similar focal length and max aperture?

Amazing work, everyone, esp. Joshua, Bob, Helena, Werner, Ronny and Philippe. I guess most people would kill to be take Joshua's "left-overs". No matter the equipment, I couldn't take a so-so portrait.

Chris, you are too generous. I feel honored and humbled..... Thank you! A beautiful image of the snapdragons there.

One dreary late afternoon in Venice but the "show must go on"....The absent of people albeit for a very brief moment lends a little bit of "mysteriousness" to the image.
Found Volvo 142 -73 from car museum's "rally section", this one was used by Hannu Mikkola in 1000 lakes rally in 1973. My first car was Volvo 142 -74 This time test photos were more for overall rendering style than boke highlights - for me both performed OK, but I like more the rendering style of FE 1.4/35.
Sony Distagon T* 1.4/35 FE @ f/1.4, 1/60s, A7R @ ISO 250
Sony FE 1.4/85 GM @ f/1.7, 1/100s, A7mkII @ ISO 320

I have thought about whether I need both but they do produce a different look and a different intensity of colour (in photo-speak I think I should say they render differently) which I think is illustrated by those two shots, but not these two which for some reason ended up looking very similar!
Thatching with wheat straw (known to thatchers as wheat reed).
With wheat the base coat underneath the new layer of thatch (the darker brown material) is not normally removed and in this case is the original 400 year old straw which was tied on with bramble (blackberry) stems.

Where do you find all these wonderful models
From my private stash , just kidding.
Basically, there are organizers for all kind of photography here in the LA/Orange County area but not all of them are good. I happen to know a few that I like. They arrange everything from selecting/hiring models, make-up artists, renting wardrobes, selecting and renting venues for the shooting. You just show up and you shoot. Of course, the photographers bear the expenses and reimburse the organizer. The price is somewhere between $30 to $100 or so for 3-4 hours of shooting. If you want to keep busy, you can do this every weekend both Saturdays and Sundays but like I said, I pick and choose. So far there are only two organizers I really like. They are both in Orange County although the shooting location varies. I do it once in two months or so, depending on my schedule. I can give you more info if you are interested since I know you are local.

Back to the burrowing owls - from my previous posts, you could see that some of them did not get along with each other and showed some kind of aggression. But I also witnessed a couple, I assume a male and female that showed quite a bit of affection for each other. Check them out below.
FYI, the lens used is Canon 100-400mm Mark II, which is optically is superb on Metabones V but the Sony FE counterpart leaves this lens behind in the dust AF-wise. In this semi-stationary situation, the lens performed splendidly.
The owl couple was a little bit further in the field. And I didn't want to disturb their peace and the environment of their habitat. So, I set up the gear further away at the edge of the field and ended up cropping the images more than the ones where two owls were fighting.
