Incidentally...more opinions needed. Trying to pair down my line-up for our Kauai trip. I've rented a 16-35/4 for the trip. I wanted AF and excellent quality for landscapes and a decent walk-around lens. So now, do I bring the Loxia 35 AND Contax 35-70? That's 3 35's...Also bringing my FE 50 1.4(I have my buddies 55 1.8 for consideration if only for size), and my Contax 100-300.
Input would be stellar!
Thanks in advance guys!
Gregg
This comes kinda late, but just in case you're still pondering your options. I would take the 16-35, 100-300, the Loxia 35 and the 55 1.8. The latter two are nice/small enough to have as walk around lenses, the 16-35 for sweeping landscapes, ocean sunrise/sunset shots, and the 100-300 for close up of vegetation and landscapes. Depending on what you do at a particular time, you can leave 1-2 lenses in your room safe.
Having been to Hawaii several times (usually Oahu), I've learned that it is challenging to get stunning landscape shots, when traveling with somebody who is not sharing your hobby. Last time I managed to get in only one tour to take pictures, plus one sunrise shot, which was slightly frustrating. You seem to be very good at combining family activities with your photography, Gregg, though. And being one of the resident bokeh masters around here, Hawaii certainly offers plenty of desirable subjects for you
Wonderful work on those last few pages, everyone. The usually suspects (Joshua, Ronny, Manuel, Rene, Werner, Gregg, Philipe and many other regulars) just keep this thread going and going. Amazing work, gentlemen.
We have a recurring pattern here which brings us nice weather from Monday through Thursday and clouds/rain on weekends. I wanted to finally test drive my Samyang 14 2.4 for astro, but so far no chance.
After a brief hiatus from photography, it feels to good to shoot again. Lovely summer night in Minnesota. All loxia 50 and a7ii. I find this lens glued to my camera unless I am doing landscape work where the c/y distagon 28 comes into play. _DSC0626 by jmonat7, on Flickr _DSC0632 by jmonat7, on Flickr _DSC0649 by _DSC0634 by jmonat7, on Flickrjmonat7, on Flickr _DSC0654 by jmonat7, on Flickr
David, love your pic, and love your comment!
Joe, love your Loxia pics and hate you for them, giving me seller's remorse.
Great stuff from thanks-for-the-kind-words-Chris, from what-was-your-aperture-please-Wilhelm, from FalcDragon, from René, from Jim, and I am sure I missed others.
And I have a question.
I've got some cheep MD-Leica adapter to use old Rokkors via Techart adapter.
But it does not fit. Maybe somebody use such combination and can suggest me
specific adapter's model, please?

The Techart PRO FAQ lists adapters for various mounts that have been found to work with the TAP. The Leicaist brand that Techart sells on their website is the most compatible but the same adapters can be purchased more cheaply on eBay.
