I arrived just before the prime rhododendrons and azaleas came into bloom, which is exactly as I'd hoped, since I would be there in Western Washington for over a month. As you saw in the previous shot, cherry trees were blooming, as well as camellias here.

I bought a Voightlander 35mm f/1.2 ASPH (the original) quite sometime ago but I haven't had to use it except for some test shots. Here is one of the first real life images taken with it at wide open aperture. Please disregard the exif info on the FL it was wrongly entered into the TAP.

Walking around in the drizzle and light rain with my Eddie Bauer Gore-Tex coat, protecting the camera and lens as much as possible. Great way to get that wet look and lighting. Welcome to the Pacific Northwest!
