I went up toward dusk and around the east side and it was still snowy, so your photos are new to me. Lovely processing though. On my last photo post, I am at star's peak, and that's mt. Hood in the back.
Do you ever go to a place, are very excited just to be there, get the photos you think you wanted .... and then not process them for like ages and ages ? That's me to a T. I seem to enjoy everything about the process from planning to execution, but when it comes to processing I procrastinate like crazy !
Anyway after initially processing maybe a dozen at most on my return from this 4-5 day trip into the mountains of Zhejiang, China, to visit ancient villages, I've now got stuck in again 6 months later.
To start off with some of the village of Xi Keng itself, way up there away from civilisation !
All A7rii and Zeiss Loxia 21mm.
Bamboo and tea are the main crops of the village but they grow all of their own vegetables too of course. Every bit of the bamboo is used, leaves after they are stripped and the stems of course (for use in construction and for food).
One of the larger farms higher up.
One of the typical homes in the village - tiny, cramped and squeezed in amongst all the others. Notice how the concrete slab to enter the home is built onto the mountain side.
They must love their neighbours ! Two homes - one shared entrance. Probably close family as it would be typical to extend a home this way for maybe a son and his new wife.
Proof that the act of shooting is sometimes (often?) enough on it's own. Great shots is just icing on the cake. Nice captures.

I got distracted for about 36 hours and then I found incredible images in the last pages... kudos everyone!
From the image quality it seems all lenses used are special but maybe, as noted by Charles, is more a matter of who uses them
Now, to lower the stellar level, some random shots around Long Beach with Zony mini-Otus all WO

I took a lot of pictures of old oak trees on my trip to the South since I find them fascinating. Here is a capture under an old oak tree in the middle of cotton fields.

Thank you, Gregg! Yes, but there are oak trees in SoCal as well but somehow the oak trees I encountered there are older and larger. In addition, the climate there is way more humid than our desert-like climate. In the last few days there, the humidity level was in the 90's. The high humidity level facilitates fern and moss growth on the trunk and large branches. And photogenic Spanish moss flourishes there.
Those B&W images are awesome, Gregg! Hmmm, Contax 100-300mm, huh? More power to you and the rose image is just wonderful!

Yes, I've been lusting after the 100-300 for a little while. Then Ronny's grabs don't help... it'll pair well with my 35-70!!
Phillippe...those flower grabs above with the Otus are really superb!
