Spring is finally starting to show up. This was shot with the C/Y Distagon 25/2.8, at f11 if I remember correctly. I held the lens a few mm from the mount and shielded the gap with my hand, since the lens didn't focus close enough and my thinnest extension tube (11mm) was too thick.

Thanks! I actually tried to do this shot the day before, but couldn't get the focus distance I wanted. On my way home the thought hit me that I could've just freelensed it, so I went back the next day and got the shot I wanted. I also got lots of shots with missed focus and light leaks :P
I could not resist the deal of A7 and just pulled the trigger.
I got A7 and 35mm 2.8
May someone tell me waht should I miss when I sell my D600 for A7?
I also have Fuji system ( XE-1) and 14mm, 23mm, 15-55 and I'm thinking about selling 14 and 23, just keep 18-55 and use XE-1/18-55 along with Sony A7/ 35mm 2.8.
I planned to order XT-1 but I thought that for the same price, the FF sensor is better deal, was this right decision?
Now I'm thinking about selling my D600. The reason that I wanted to keep my D600 although I barely used it was the big FF sensor and fast AF.
A bit different one from OM Auto-Macro 50/2. It definitely seems like a good lens for landscape shots (besides it's usual macro capabilities). This shot was made wide open.

A7 gives me FF sensor. How's about AF??

A7 focus much faster than your XE1 but not as good as a DSLR. I put it half way between the XE1 and Olympus EM1. A7 tracking focus is useless. That's just the way it is. In low light it does slow down but usually it will lock on. Focus assist helps. The system is in it's infancy as well so lenses are few, for now. Fuji jpegs are better.
On the plus side the 35mm and 55mm are absolutely stellar lenses. The files are delicious and there's no occasional Xtrans weirdness. Personally i prefer the Sony kit lens to the Fuji one and the 24-70 is lovely. Sony has a better TTL flash system.
Amazing shots, Gregg! I really like the tonality and composition of the black and white one, and the first one is breathtaking. You have a nice work desk btw.
We should really grab local people from this forum one day and do A7 outing in Santa Cruz and around. Try different lenses etc.
Amazing shots, Gregg!...Thank you! The CY 35-70 was made for the A7, I'm totally convinced!! We should really grab local people from this forum one day and do A7 outing in Santa Cruz and around. Try different lenses etc.
That would be COOL
I'm down! Just have to get a hall pass from the Boss
Everyone's really starting to figure out how to get the best out of these cameras - which lenses to use, how to process the images etc. I wonder how many A7 & A7R's this thread has sold?
I'm also up for a Santa Cruz or Bay Area get together!
