Stass...really like the seagulls flying shot!
Michiel...love the abstract art shot!
Nicholas...very nice shot of Grand Central Station! Is it really that big??
Sami...nice moody sunset with the CV 58. I used to use that lens in my 1D4. Incredible little lens, and very, very sharp stopped down, too!

yeah, i've been thinking that waiting till june probably won't save me any money considering i can get an a7 brand new now for under $1400. might as well enjoy it for a couple extra months. plus, i've been really unhappy using my nex-5n since the nex-7 broke. just can't get along well with that camera (comparing it to the rx1 isn't helping either).
i'm very happy with the performance on the a7r of my rokkors btw, i finally can have a digital version of my xd-11. the contax g28 is awesome btw at macro distances, as many others have noted it has ridiculous field curvature and vignetting at normal distances. ...Show more →
So you will get one in the near future? I am looking forward to your results.
Btw. did you check the MC 2/28? I bought one ages ago because of your nice results with it, but it has a colony of fungi in it and so far I haven't tried to clean it.
All images are taken with the Minolta 1.2/58 at f/2, I had a problem with my script.

Agree, and that quite busy bokeh works great with BW.
Gregg: great capture of the old Volvo PV444, must be rare over there.
Thanks Wilhelm! I was downtown doing some shopping, had just gotten the Nokton, and just happened to see the Volvo drive by and snapped it! Right place at the right time!

Quick ones from last night. The atomic bom dome in Hiroshima taken on the a7r and CZ 21mm distagon. I processed these with photo raw on an ipad, I will reprocess them when I get home.

yeah, i'll order an a7 in the next week or two.
i did try out the 28/2 on the a7r, though i only took about 6 test shots with it. my impression is that it has a lot of spherical aberration and coma at f/2 that are almost completely eliminated my stopping down one stop. there is a pretty high level of CA towards the edges, but it seems to correct well. central resolution is very good though contrast is rather weak (possibly just my copy). edge resolution is good as well, but the extreme corners (last ~500px) fall off a cliff. part of that could be the adapter, but i got similar results on film where i would stop down to f/11 or even f/16 to get the very best from the extreme corners.
my copy has pretty egregious coating marks on the rear element that i believe probably lower the contrast a noticeable amount and i used a $15 adapter that almost certainly has some tilt to it, so take that stuff into account looking at the results. here is a shot wide open at mfd of the same flowers i posted earlier with the g28:
and some silver and black items relatively close:
a test shot at f/8 and infinity (possibly f/5.6 but i think f/8), note – i did correct CA in these in LR:
