Photo taken May 7, 2016 at 10:57 AM of F. L. Ricketts Falls, Ricketts Glen State Park, PA with Tim Devine. Image taken with my tripod mounted A7rM V3 and my Leica M 24mm f3.8 Elmar Asph lens, ISO 50, lens set to f11 for 1/15 second. Exposure corrected by +0.83 Stops and processed with CornerFix and LR6.
So, I'm on the beach, back turned to the ocean to keep the bubbles in shade, down on all fours with nose and gear a few inches from the bubbles, and a photographer who has been watching comes up to me. "What are you shooting?" He asks. I describe the subject. Long pause...dead space. "Well, that's different...I suppose." He turns and walks away toward the horde of photographers getting ready to shoot the ever popular sea stacks & sunset scene.
Thank you very much, Jack! I have to say that I find your images are not only beautiful with your unique PP but they are also very intriguing. Sometimes, it seems they raise questions, making you come back to look and trying to figure out the answers.
Here are a few more images from Bodie while staying with the theme an of old/abandoned car. Cars of yesteryear are made out of thicker metal alright but the dry desert weather conditions in Bodie slow down the decay by quite a bit.

Joshua - love Bodie and Mono Lake shots. Ronny, I don't know how you do it! You must have trained bugs. All the shots on this thread are entertaining and instructive.
Here are a few shots I took just after driving past a black bear watching us from the side of the road. A7RII with FE 24-240.

Much appreciated, Dale! I am truly impressed how well you could make the 24-240mm lens sing. That proves the skill of the person behind the camera plays more, actually significantly more a role than the gear he/she uses.

Thank you, Ronny! Your images deserve a big
Bodie is located some 14 miles to the NE from Highway 395 at a fairly high altitude and dry location. On the way to that ghost town, just a mile or so away from the highway, I arrived at a lush valley. And there was a sizable flock of sheep feeding in the green meadow sprinkled with blue irises. Of course, I had to stop and to snap a few images. What impressed me more is one of the 5 or so sheepherder dogs. He walked away from the flock towards me but stopped, watching me closely and sat down. He just wanted to make sure that I was aware of his presence and at the same time for me not to get too close to the flock. What a smart dog! I got my long lens to capture the dog.
I drove a little bit away passing the flock and stopped again before leaving the valley to capture a few shots of the meadow full of blue wild irises.
