Joshua - love Bodie and Mono Lake shots. Ronny, I don\'t know how you do it! You must have trained bugs. All the shots on this thread are entertaining and instructive.

Here are a few shots I took just after driving past a black bear watching us from the side of the road. A7RII with FE 24-240.

Much appreciated, Dale! I am truly impressed how well you could make the 24-240mm lens sing. That proves the skin of the person behind the camera plays more, actually significantly more a role than the gear he/she uses.

Jack: Thanks you ..your last shot is just WOW

Nothing special .. some in focus and some out of focus

Thank you, Ronny! Your images deserve a big

Bodie is located some 14 miles to the NE from Highway 395 at a fairly high and dry location. On the way to that ghost town, just a mile or so away from the highway, I arrived at a lush valley. And there was a sizable flock of sheep feeding in the green meadow sprinkled in blue irises. Of course, I had to stop and to snap a few images. What impressed me more is one of the 5 or so sheep herder dogs. He walked away from the flock towards me but stopped, watching me closely and sat down. He just wanted to make sure that I was aware of his presence and at the same time for me not to get too close to the flock. What a smart dog! I got my long lens to capture the dog.

I drove a little bit away from the flock and stopped again before leaving the valley to capture a few shots of the meadow full of blue wild irises.
