South-Eastern Sicily was hit by an earthquake in 1693 - completely leveling several villages. Among them, three are especially enjoyable to visit for the Baroque style in which they were rebulit in the early 1700s: Noto, Modica and Ragusa.

(previously posted a similar shot, but included here to complete the story)
Thx, Jako, for the words on the last page: Likewise great expressive photographs
Thx Philip and Ronny, Renè ....such great pages on this thread my admiration to everybody, have to mention all..
Was out doing yard work a found a colony of Japanese Pit Vipers in the garden. Rather poisonous things could easily kill a dog or small child. Taken on the a7rii and the Batis 25 at f/2.
Photo of Mountain Laurel (Kalmia Latifolia) flowers, Limberlost Trail, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia taken at 11:12 AM on June 6, 2015. Image taken with my tripod mounted Leica R 100mm f2.8 Apo-Macro-Elmarit and my A7r, ISO 200, lens set to f8 for 1/40 second. Processed in LR6.
I've got some catching up to do...so many good images in this thread.
My wife and I made a "bucket list" trip to Niagara Falls this past weekend and I shook the rust off my camera and grabbed a few shots. Here are a couple...
Today I want to start to contribute to FM Forum after a long time of reading and watching these beautiful images at Sony FE Images Thread. I think a post processing blog post of Phillip Reeve gave the initial hint to fredmiranda (thank you Phillip ).
Great forum with lots of useful informations (especially the proper use of Sony Alpha zebra pattern for ETTR or usefulness of smooth reflection app).
I think it won't hurt to say that the photographs of Phillip Reeve (and "his team") and Werner Utsch and Ronny Olsson are most inspiring to me. Nearly every pic is lifelike with great composition and stunning postprocessing/colors. Much to learn from your skills. For me it’s also nice to see where all the other contributors make their landscape photographs. I'm adding continuously great locations to my "must travel" list. Hopefully I'm able to visit them in my life.
I want to start with a pic from the light illuminated viaduct/aqueduct at Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel. The monuments are illuminated only 4 times a year. So the press of people is great. With help of a light painting stranger (who lighted the foreground) I took this picture at the following settings 17mm | 8s | f9 | ISO 1000
There have been some insanely awesome grabs these last several pages. All the usual photogs, and others. Way too many to mention. Needless to say, this thread and its members never fail to amaze. Honestly!!

This lens never fails to amaze me. You can't go wrong with it...wide open/stopped its pretty damn awesome
Just joined membership here today so would like to share a couple from the Sony A7R II and a like new Leica R 180mm f/2.8 (second version) I purchased recently. Manually focusing is so easy. I have used the Clear image Zoom and very impressed how good it is. Compared to the regular full sized .RAW and heavily cropped the image is better with the Clear Image Zoom.
