Charles, your images just sold me the 85GM, those are just fantastic!
Have you tried doing a direct head-to-head comparison with the Canon 85L? Just wondering how the drawing style differs (bokeh etc.).
Thank you very much The GM 85 did all the heavy lifting here!
I have not run a comparison as both lenses are very different and unique in their styles. The 85L II is a f/1.2 lens and will always have the ability to have that amazing almost Leica glow to the shots not dissimilar to Mandler 75 Lux @ f/1.2 -1.6. The GM 85 has the magic in color collection like the ZA 135/1.8, and yet incredibly sharp on the focus plane without losing its personality or having distracting background.
was cleaning up my photo computer this evening (now that i'm done with my taxes) after a week of testing a pair of 85s and starting on the Batis 25 - after dealing with the govt bs - this one made me laugh (and i needed that) - i was just sneaking up on my wife and kids taking shots around the house with the 85GM and caught my wife walking up the front stairs and i popped over the balcony railing and i didn't nail the focus, but it's close enough (for govt work).
(i played with the colors a bit on this one - this was more of an experiment with CapOne v9 which i've just started using and now really prefer - i may delete Lightroom and stop subscribing to Adobe's nonsense and just use CapOne and DxO)
Back to Page, Arizona on Navajo Land, at the Horse Shoe Bend to be exact. Not much of a sunset today ; it was simply too cloudy. Just a short burst of colors and the show was over. I just checked the conditions outside, it is very cloudy. That means no astrophotography tonight and I can sleep in until 5:00AM for sunrise !
PS - the internet connection here in the boonies is painfully slow.... Some images on the previous pages didn't load up fully....
Been some absolutely killer images these last few pages! Took a few days off and the thread jumped 5 pages!
Charles..I have to say your GM85 grabs are phenomenal!! My buddy picked one up and I got to shoot it and play with it. It feels incredible in hands and I love the way it manual focuses! I have a few from "around my buddies house grabs" that ill post later
Joshua...love the images above. Wow!!
Again...superb images from all these last pages!
Gregg
A7rll and my new to me Leica Summicron R 35
Not the best of subjects, I apologize
Not the best landscape lens, but still pretty ok! @f11
Thank you very much Gregg The GM 85 is an awesome lens! I have now decided to sell my 85L II as the GM 85 will do everything I need for now. Having a lens just makes life so much easier.
