Then, this is for you, Jannik. It's like having multiple NDs in your camera body. I'm sure it won't work in every situation but then, either do NDs. I've played with longer exposures (64-256 exposures) so far but I want to play with shorter ones too.
Photo taken at 8:04 PM on August 11, 2015 of a Doe White Tail Deer, Big Meadows, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. Image cropped and taken with my tripod mounted Canon new FD 500mm f4.5 L lens and my A7r, ISO 400, lens set to f4.5 for 1/160 second. Exposure corrected by + 0.36 stops and processed in LR6.

Hi Bob,
Have you compared the results with long exposures with say 10 or 15 stops of ND? 128 exposures is quite a lot and will certainly lower the life of the camera shutter. Of course I believe the A7rII has an estimate of 500,000 releases. On the other hand the A7rII has the issue with exposures into the minutes of going down from 14 to 12 bit. But, my A7rM does not have that life expectancy.

I haven't done a direct comparison on the same composition, lighting, time of day, etc. but my feeling is that the results are similar in many cases to a neutral density filter. I would prefer to use the filters but it's nice to know that this app is sitting in my camera for those times when my filters are sitting at home. I'm not so worried about the shutter and the number of exposures. First, the camera can handle it and second, I'm likely to replace the body with the A7r3 (or A9) way before wearing out the shutter! I have yet to try out the app at night for night reflections or on a waterfall so more fun to be had in the future!

A7rII and GM 85
Charles, great shots with the GM. I know you otherwise shot with the Canon 85L but I was wondering if you have tested the Batis 85 and if so, how would you compare? There has been some opinions on the differences but I love the Batis. I have to admit, shots like yours make me want to try it out . . .
Very nice Helena!
Rene...that's pretty awesome. Love the composition!
Bob...what's your take on the Contax 35-70/3.4? Saw your first few grabs a couple of pages back...it has a definitive look, with bold colors! One of my fav all time lenses!
Here are a couple grabs from my buddies house, using his GM85 for the first time. Nothing stunning, like Charles' images, but I only had it for 5 min!!

A7rll and GM 85 @f1.4
Well, I got up at 2:00AM and it looked like the sky was OK. So, I ventured out for a few hours taking dark images. After they were put together, the result is decent. OK, this particular one wasn't that well composed but it was processed already. So, I am posting it....

I'm liking what I see. Certainly the colors and 'look' of the images are something to behold. Prime-like sharpness too, especially from 35-50. My copy seems to focus past infinity so I need to keep that in mind. (I wonder if this is adjustable?) The lens is easy to use and I like the overall look of images much more than the Minolta 35-70/3.5 Macro. I haven't really tested out the macro feature but will soon. More to come . . .

It might be the adapter...I now use a Rayqual one, and it's flocked and baffled with perfect infinity focus. Maybe give that a try?
