I own the FL as well, an interesting lens! Recently I've been experimenting with the dot that's near the f1.2 marking that makes the aperture blades come in very slightly. It affects light transmission in the center only and doesn't affect metering at all (camera will read identical exposure between that and wide open just with a slightly darker center), however it improves performance a lot! The glowing around the subjects decrease significantly, and it makes it much more usable. Bokeh hardly decreases, and light transmission is mostly the same. Just a tip for using the lens, it has made me enjoy it much more....Show more →
TY, I thought that little dot is called F/1.4 You are right, though, I had no need to shoot it wide open in those conditions. It's a sharp lens all the way to f/8, and one of the great legacy values
