Just a few minutes ago from my balcony Unfortunately the FE 55 doesn't seem to produce starbursts unlike my ZM lenses, probably due to the circular aperture.

A few low light shots from the last couple of days with the a7.

Some a7 owners have complained about unexpectedly high noise, and I agree. On the other hand, this camera gives great colors even at ISO 6400 (the one at the top is ISO 12800). I'm liking this give-and-take solution better than cameras that give super low noise, but poor colors.

Really getting cabin fever now, shot this on a 4x5 cambo wide open lens just adjusted shutter on camera.

Kind of like this one. I caught the sun shining on the wind chime and then got the setting sun in the picture also, shot wide open.

Got the FE55/1.8 yesterday. Hate AF and the mushiest focus ring I have ever tried. But darn, this is a superb lens.

This shot wont win any awards, it is almost full but did a slight crop to place subject to the right. It's cropped because as far as I know AF with the A7 wont let me do that in a second or two. Then a 100% crop of his face.

A7 + FE55/1.8 @ F/1.8

*fingers crossed for a f/1.2 auto-focus FE mount lens*

Until then, here's my Voigt 40 1.4 on A7:

I was the only person in the entire museum and sweet talked my way to get some close up shots of the GT on display.

The FE 55mm is definitely too short to capture closeup wildlife but it performs just fine for environmental wildlife . Here are 3 images for that exact purpose with sandhill cranes as the main targets. These were taken near and at the crane pool at Bosque del Apache, New Mexico last week.

Edward, I like what your have posted of late.

The setup for these three: A7R->Phigment Tech adapter->Summilux 35

I am still having a very hard time shooting with this camera. Partially, it's my eyesight no longer being what it was, for manual focus, and partially it's simply a technically overwhelming little device.

ISO 6400 1/250th @ f/1.4 - all noise reduction turned off, converted via SilverEfx. Selective burning. It's almost like using super-sharp Neopan 1600, which was one of my favorite B/W emulsions.
