nice shots Edward.

I have often wondered, but the light where you live seems fundamentally different than anywhere I have lived. Over systems your pictures have the same color signature. Other people from that area seem to have the same color palette too.

do you look at us westerner's photos and feel the same way?

Thank you red!

I do agree that light can be fundamentally different from region to region. I have done a fair amount of traveling in my life to know that. Even within the US, I don't think the light looks the same in Florida and Alaska I find the best light to be in central Europe, where the dry and clean weather produces the clearest skies I have seen. On the other hand, all colors in Bangkok have a greenish tinge due to the light pollution, and when you add some magenta to balance it out, it creates a particular color signature. By the way, I am not technically an Oriental since I come originally from Lebanon, where the light is typically Mediterranean not different form what you get in south Italy and Spain. But, yeah, I do envy you guys living in the west especially when there is sky in the picture. It's so frustrating to be a landscape photographer over here, because we get truly blue skies no more than 5-10 days in a year.

I see. Makes sense about the color signature being due to air quality.

Home is where the heart is. I am not Texan but I may be stuck here the rest of my life at the rate Im going lol.

I apologize for diverting the topic. I do not, after all, have my own A7 yet. I am waiting for Spring to come before I grab one. Everyone's pictures are very convincing, and I am about done shooting film anyway.

Two from today.

Sony Zeiss 135mm ZA at f3.5. This one had zero post processing other than downsizing and a touch of noise reduction.

Sony Zeiss 55mm FE at f11.

Did someone say blue sky's?
Arizona has them, along with other colors, that come from many nice sunsets, on some nights a hint of cloud really helps it pop.

Congrats on the loaners, they should give you at least one, I'm sure that your pictures sold more than a few A7(r)'s.

Phillip
Very nice pictures with the Sony 70-400 lens. I would very much appreciate your assessment/observations of this lens on the A7/A7r. I have wondered about using this lens for wildlife/zoo shots. I am currently using an Olympus 75-300 lens with E-M1 for these type shots and wondered if this combination would be better.

Same. VERY interested. Also is this the 70-400mm F4-5.6 G SSM or SSM II?

Thank you very much Bob!

Really love the b/w conversions. I find the A7 files do not lend themselves to monochrome work, at least not as well as the Leica M, but you are proving me wrong here.

Out of curiosity which adapter did you use? The LA-EA3 or the LA-EA4 with the SLT mirror? Great shots BTW!
