The lack of shots with EF lenses is disturbing.

Maybe not as much interest in adapting Canon lenses in Japan (I think the only market to have the camera so far??). Most others seem to be testing it with Sony and using the new lenses they are providing at events to review sites and selected photographers.

Lots of people getting the camera that have a lot of Zeiss and Leica gear, from what I can see. Probably the reason for so many good shots so far. People with that gear tend to be fairly decent photographers, especially if they are rushing out to get a new body the first week it is released.

Has anyone tested the Auto Focus speed of the a7r with a Canon L lens? Just curious.

I suppose you talk about when using the Metabones adapter together with L lenses. This is from his website.

"Autofocus"

Autofocus is supported, with the following known limitations.
Autofocus speed is very slow and inadequate for most moving subjects. The autofocus speed is unfit for professional use for sure, and it would disappoint most enthusiasts.
Only Canon-branded lenses introduced in or after 2006 are officially supported. Autofocus may be disabled for older Canon lenses and most third-party lenses, including most Sigma, Tamron and Tokina lenses and all Contax N lenses modified by Conurus"

Any body wanting good AF speed from a high MP high DR sensor with Canon glass, better pray Canon is getting ready to rumble, or it's life in the slow lane.

That depends. Slow but accurate is good enough for the studio, and other static / semi static subjects.

I've never had problems with AF speed. Not even with the 85L II.

All my EF lenses + the Sigma 35.

Hopefully Zeiss will release a native 16-35 next year. I'll use that one too if it is sharp corner to corner.

Not all EF lenses have AF with that adapter. And most Sigma lenses don't have AF. No Continuous AF on any lens.
"Autofocus may have difficultly locking onto subjects which are very close to the nearest focusing distance of the lens.
Autofocus accuracy depends heavily on the working condition of the lens"

Yup, full manual lenses will be much easier and cheaper to adapt to the A7r.

Maybe Jim will get the camera and show us some of the M645 lenses on a mirex

Even with the slow AF your still going to use your canon glass. I am a heavy AF user.

Of course. If I cared about fast AF, the 85L II wouldn't be my favorite lens.

Canon TS-E 17/4L, TS-E 24/3.5L II, and EF 135/2L; Carl Zeiss 18mm f/3.5 ZE, 28/2.8, 50/2 ZE, 100/3.5, and 35-70/3.4; Mamiya 645 C 35/3.5 N, C 55/2.8 N, C 80/2.8 N, C 80/4 N Macro, A 120/4 Macro, A 150/2.8, and A 200/2.8 APO. Maybe my Oly's too (18/3.5, 21/3.5, 24/2.8), but only if they can deliver the IQ.

My other lenses (including the 85/1.2L II) will be used on my Canon bodies.

That's my plan, but not until next year.

Well, hope someone else will test it out before then. I've got 5 lenses and a mirex that don't see a lot of action on my 7D.

Mainly

Zeiss 15, 21 ZE
Sigma 35mm f/1.4
Voigtlander 125mm Macro

Also depending on how they perform (might be a nice walkaround kit)

Canon 28mm f/2.8 IS
Canon 40mm STM

Probably not...but never say never I guess

Canon 70-200 f/4 L IS

If it wasn't for the lens selection I probably would drop my Canon for this. I just don't see a benefit for what I shoot.

-General travel
-shots of the family
-Some street
-some hiking shots...

I wonder in the end how many Canon users, will end up spending a lot more on native or alt glass than they anticipated. It'd be a shame to basically be stuck on a tripod.

Maybe I don't understand where you are going with this but what are you getting at? Canon users switching to A7r?
