First time outside with my RX1. A quick 15 minutes in the neighbourhood.. Nothing fancy.. Still learning how to best PP the files from this little beast :-)

I'm going to buy a use RX1 on Ebay
can someone tell me if I should look for a later manufacture model or it makes no difference if it was made on 2012 or 2013
Thanks

Sebboh, whats your sharpening and/or downsizing workflow for RX1 images ? Yours always look fantastic (not just in regards to sharpening, but also in regards to composition/content too of course)
Always has tons of detail and pop, which the RX1 excels at, but never look overly sharpened, which is something I've been struggling with a bit when downsizing

thanks, i use a step downsizing script in PS based off of the one luka (denoir) posted a few years ago that i tweak every now and then. i do all my normal processing in LR and then export to PS at full size with zero capture sharpening or output sharpening. then i run this script (for vertically oriented images):
if it looks over sharped i adjust the opacity of the layer till it looks right to me.
hope that helps.
edit: if you have an rx1r instead of the rx1 you should definitely use a lot less sharpening in the first sharpening step of that script.

Yeah, that's what I found strange about the RX1r. The RX1 is already very sharp when you nail focus. If I were buying new, I guess I'd opt for the RX1r, but as used prices for the RX1 are lower, I'd probably buy that if I were buying today.

Sony make a pretty big deal about what a high tech AA filter the RX1 had on their Japanese site, and its already very weak. You can sometimes see slight moire as is, so there really isn't too much to be gained from the lack of AA filter on the R version.
That said, I probably would get it if I was buying new, but used RX1 prices can save you a grand or so, which is a pretty substantial savings

6th bday celebration.
this shot was a bit of a frustration. i knew we'd be singing happy birthday, so i checked the in camera battery meter about 1/2 hour before and it read that the battery was 3/4 full. i didnt really shoot much with it. i started taking photos of my wife lighting the cake and i got the 'battery exhausted' sign just as we started singing. i took this despite the warning not knowing if the camera was even operable. luckily, it snapped, but the composition is not what i intended.
