^^ excellent!
i've been experimenting with night exposures recently. does anybody know any easy way to correct for hot pixels later on at home rather than having the camera do a dead shot that takes as long as the exposure?

I am in a real conundrum. I have not used my 5D2 and L lenses for almost a year, since getting the RX1.
I have put in an order for the Sony FF A7R, but I don't know if there is any point. The images off the RX1 are already so good and the camera is such a dream, I suspect the A7R is going to be a disappointment.
The lens and sensor match perfectly, the EVF is pretty damn good and it is fast.

If you are not missing anything (functions, features, IQ or whatever) in your current camera (regardless of what it is), then there is no reason to upgrade or change. With the RX1 vs A7r, I don't see those two as direct replacements for one another due to their differences. They are more compliments to one another (particularly if you need to add another lens focal length). See the "Reasons you will keep your RX1" thread:
