lovely butterflies ebookman, and great sky in that last corn shot dpedraza!
after some experimentation, i've decided that there is next to no advantage to blending multiple images with rx1 vs just pushing and pulling the shadows and highlights in a single exposure:

I like that one!
For the family album of course but it also made me happy looking at it. Nice!

The JPG compression stuff (I'm not sure what we decided to call it last time) in the sky is there again. Is that again from lifting shadows?
I like the big DR offered by the RX1 and it has made my post processing process a lot better to live with. But when printing big, does this work? I assume you don't print JPGs so maybe the question is stupid then. I'm just not used to that heavy PP. I haven't run into this yet but then I don't post a lot of images on the Net. My workflow is raw -> aRGB -> photoshop -> 16-bit tif for printing.
Thank you for all your images btw, some of them have inspired me to look at things differently.

actually this time it's from adding vignetting (one of my big processing weakness – i add a ton of vignetting to everything). i used a grad filter in lightroom to only lift shadows below the horizon on this one. the artifacts aren't their on a full sized jpeg but downsizing seems to have created them. i didn't notice them this time till you mentioned it (i didn't really look at the websized one). my printing workflow is completely different from my to web workflow which is LR -> sRGB jpg -> PS for sharpening/downsizing for web. i've not run into this posterization issue yet in print, but i haven't tried printing any of the ones likely to be problematic either.

Thank you for getting back on this. For some reason this page didn't work for me yesterday (hence the "test" post). For a day your nice image of the happy girl was the last thing I could see when checking the thread.
OK, vignetting and then the JPG compression. I get it. I think I'll once again experiment a little with more high dynamic images myself. Since last discussion I haven't run into any problems but that is again with the workflow I described above. Cheers!

i had the same issue myself, i was wondering if i should apologize for my late reply. today i've been having the same trouble with the nikon "mirrorless" page 16. i've found that replacing the work "topic" in the url with a "z" allows me to view the page. no idea what the cause of the issue is. i've tried multiple browsers to no avail.
