Thanks Helena The Macro mode I missed very much with the M9/M-M, and it is so much fun with the RX1. Bonus having this in FF too. Ziggy the Burmese is very content

He is very handsome! I like cats, and would like to have an "exotic" one some day. A friend in Sweden has two Russian Blues. Beautiful and very sweet cats, but extremely shy.
I was just going to mail a letter yesterday when all of a sudden the sun came out and made the sky look awesome, so I hurried to a spot about 1km from our house where there is a nice view. Fortunately I had brought RX1 (stitch from four vertical shots):

These things seem to be flying out of the stores here. Whenever a store has one/some in stock it's only a matter of hours (max) before they're sold out again. The higher price doesn't seem to hold back the europeans.

Helena, very nice shot indeed! This is all the more instructive as there are plenty short and medium-range shots that demonstrate the RX1's prowess in that department, but very few infinity shots. Thanks!
Charles, the above notwithstanding, your second flower shot is a gem!

Joe, Philippe, thank you
Martin, great set! Particularly the last two shots
Shots from this morning. I have been noticing sometimes shots do not appear to be sharp at f/5.6, when viewed at 100%, and may explain why some people have been thinking that the cam is unsharp at infinity. I have concluded this is due my camera holding technique @ 1/80s. With the M9 I can hold the camera to 1/15s, but with the RX 1, holding away from the body, the min shutter speed may well have to increased. This I assume is due to technique, and I may opt for a OVF to improve this

Charles,
I noticed this "phenomena" too. Something similar happened to my Leica X2 when shutter speed was lower than 100.
I wonder if this behavior would change when using a tripod.

Vovkinson, interesting! A tripod would get rid of this camera shake issue, but it may well be relearning the best method to hold the cam when the shutter speed is at 1/80s.

Since that LCD should have pretty good viewing angles, you might want to try what I do with the NEX's flip up screen, and hold the camera chest level with your elbows at your side.
