Thanks Simon for the crops. Flipping between them produces a kind of fun animated gif-like view with a small waving bush in the lower right. My eyes are tired, I see minor differences but they don't amount to much at 3am local time.

Now I am confused. To get the same exposure with the 5DIII as the RX1, you would have to raise the ISO from 100 to 200 (1/3 stop for the aperture, and 2/3 stops for the shutter speed).
In other words, You must use the RX1 at 2/3 stops higher ISO to get the same exposure.
Helena says that in relation to the 5D, it is the opposite, the RX1 can be used at alomst one stop lower ISO for the same exposure. I don't think the 5D and the 5DIII are that far apart. What could this be?

alundeb, please don't read too much into the settings that I used. I had both cameras set, I thought, in Aperture mode and at the beginning both were at f/5.6, but I must have changed them during the hour or so I was there. Don't forget, I have also edited in LR. Both edits were, I must say though, pretty similar.
From what I've seen Helena has more manual control and more understanding of exposure, stops etc than I do.
Don't get hung up on it, I am just trying to show that both cameras are, in my opinion, pretty damn close.

They are very close. I slightly prefer the first shot. The second one looks a (very) little more flat. The second one is also exposed less though, so I am not sure what to conclude. A re-match is in order
