p.23 #1 · Sigma DP2 Merrill: Have any of you tried it?
Hey apologies if this has already been posted, but just trying to assist. The Sigma BP-41 appears very hard to get, and is non-existant as a replacement in Australia anyways. The Ricoh DB-65 replacement works a treat.

Sorry, these are non genuine. You can't get 'replacement'style BP-41 but you can for the DB-65.
The third party DB-65 replacement batteries I purchased will not work in the Sigma's without modification. Have you actually tried these? If they indeed work, it would be interesting to figure out which third party brands do work without modification.

Yep as BW camera its actually pretty good. Guess SD1M is too. Must be quite close to Leica M-M, except high ISO. Interesting these look quite "filmic" while Leica M-M look "superdigital".

I now have the DP2 Merrill and fired off my first couple of test shots tonight. Problem is, I get a processing error when loading the X3F files in Sigma Photo Pro. I can't see what I am doing wrong - I am pretty useless with computers though (BTW I am running windows 7 if anyone has any tips).
From what I can see, at 100% the jpegs look great. Looking forward to working from the raw files.
