The 30mm lens is exceptional, however, you've already got a great 30mm for your NEX mount......

I put in an order with Sigma for the 30mm. I'm going with the short normal over the long wide. The 30mm just seems the better lens for resolution and and distortion. Thanks to all for their encouragement!

Personally, having found the 30mm/2.8 the only satisfying lens on my NEX-7 I will be very interested to see how they compare side by side. I'm betting $999. that the DP2M will be better.

I was playing with some of the file from the NEX-7 and DP2M at Outback Photo, trying to equalize the NEX-7 to the DPM2, through downsizing, careful sharpening and some color tweaks. I'm not all the way there, but I don't think the difference between the two ends up being so huge...at least in this setting.
